Augmented reality is a very exciting and eye catching way to present data about a users surroundings, by superimposing images, text and sounds over the physical space that the user is occupying or surveying.

With augmented-reality smartphone apps, informative graphics appear on the screen as you point your camera at different items. For example, when you move your camera to display a city street, the phone will overlay a description of each shop onto the cameras screen display as it moves over the shop.
