YOUR SPEC DOC IS CRITICAL
The success or failure of any software project will hinge almost completely on a well designed and executed specification document. This is the critical step that is required before a project plan and a fixed cost can be applied to the rest of the process. IrishApps is perfect for companies or individuals that need this critical first step carried out in a predictable, knowledgeable and professional manner.
OUR PROCESS STEP BY STEP
You can give us just the broad strokes of you app or business idea or give us very detailed instructions. You’ll be able to have as much input as you want. Short leash (place restrictions on the design) or long leash (sky’s the limit). It’s up to you.
Our brief questionnaire will help identify your goals and expectations for your app. It will also help us to answer some critical technical questions that will influence the back end design of your system.
We design your app to include an Outline Description and detailed technical description for all screens and aspects. All classes are specified (essential) for later software development. We provide five photo realistic screen shots and the remainder of the screens wire-framed or sketched. We also provide a full database schema (or architecture) so that your system will work efficiently on your cloud store. We specify all technologies, databases, programming languages and server and cloud specifications.
PDF Spec in 2 Weeks
We provide a full PDF Spec Doc with all screens specified for all platforms (Android, iOS, Web) to include five photo realistic screen examples. The doc includes an outline description that you can use to present your app idea to grant bodies and investors and it includes a full technical specification to present to software engineering professionals to get accurate and fixed cost estimates to develop your app idea or software system.

WHAT’S IN A SOFTWARE SPECIFICATION DOC
Acronyms and Abbreviations
Detailed Technical Description
List of Classes and Attributes
Screen Map for each platform
Five Photo Realistic Screens
Remaining screens in wireframe or sketch form
Appendix of all icons and graphics used to produce the five screen shots
Appendix of any supporting documents used throughout the specification (if any)
SPECIFICATION DOC EXPLAINED
A summary of all the important aspects of your system. Past clients have often cut and pasted this section straight into their business plan, or used it to present to Enterprise Ireland or to VCs. It’s a great non-technical description of each section
THE RIGHT SOFTWARE AND DATABASES FOR SCALE
A critical decision in any software platform that needs to scale vertically or horizontally is which databases or combination of databases to use and which programming languages to use for your API, cloud store and your Android, iOS and Web clients.
DATABASE SCHEMA AND ARCHITECTURE
A block diagram of a proposed database design that our software engineers will judge to be complex enough to carry out all the tasks required of the app but simple enough to minimize cost and future maintenance.
FIVE PHOTO REALISTIC SCREEN SHOTS
We’ll pick five screen shots that will largely represent the look and feel of your app. Alternatively you can specify which of the (five) screens within your system should be rendered to this level of detail… you might choose login, settings, etc.
WIREFRAMES AND SKETCHES
Any screens not covered in the Five Screen Shots will be wireframed or sketched. Screen specific menus and popups will also be sketched if they haven’t already been specified in the previous steps.
A map for all the screens and platforms that encompass your system. iOS, Android and Web screens are mapped with every major screen ad popup listed. You can see at a glance how many screens and which screen leads to the next.
This section contains similar heading to the Outline Section, except that each aspect of your app or system is elaborated on so that software professionals can have visibility to all the details they need to build the system.
that work for you
We’ve taken the lessons learned from writing 100s of Software Specification document and applied these lessons to this offering. The bottom line is that you can hand this document to any software company and the feedback and time and time and cost estimates you get back will be based on the same specifications and technical retails. There will be little or no room for interpretation and you can be confident that you are getting the most bang for your euro or dollar. Money spent at the design stage always saves you in the long run.
